Day II - 13 November
Hands-on workshops description
Reproductive health professionals receive training in various aspects of assisted reproductive technology, embryology and other procedures comprising infertility treatment.
The aim of these Hands-on workshops for ART professionals is to learn the common best practices in embryo transfer, pick-up and ICSI and practice embryo transfer techniques, oocyte pick-up and ICSI using virtual reality-based simulators. Learners will use modules of progressive difficulty to develop motor and cognitive skills for performing this three type of procedures. The work-shops will provide virtual simulated operative steps with increasing levels of complexity.
Target audience
Reproductive health professionals who perform oocyte pick-up, embryo transfer procedures and for embryologists who perform ICSI..
Educational needs and expected outcomes
There currently is no standardized procedures or methods for training professionals entering the field. At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to :
- describe the steps of the procedures in humans; and
- implement the hands-on experience gained with the simulators into their practice.
